Ghana is one of the most peaceful and Democratic country in Africa. Even though politics in Ghana is been dominated by men, Ghanaian women have thier share of the political cake. They choose not to be intimidated by the male politicians in fighting for the rights of the citizen.

1.Ama Benyiwa Doe:

She was an Member of parliament on the the ticket of the National Democratic Party from 1992 to 2004 at Gomoa West until she was defeated by Joe Kingsley Hackman.She continued to work for the NDC as national women’s organizer.She was nominated by Late J.E.A Mills as Central Regional Minister in 2009. She was also member of Pan Africa Parliament. Ama Benyiwa Doe was born in the 1950’s and was christen Comfort Saah.
2.Ursula Owusu-Ekuful.

The 53 year old Lawyer,women’s right activist,Communication minster and parliamentarian representing Ablekuma West Constituency.She was leading member in President Akufo Addo’s campaign team that won the 2016 election.She is a product of the University Of Ghana And The Ghana School Of Law. Ursula was called to the Ghana Bar in October 1990. She also holds a certificate in Government Integrity from the International Law Institute, Washington DC.


She was the national Women’s Organizer of National Democratic Congress and also formal member of the National Disaster Management Organization. Anita gained popularity when she stated that magical dwarfs were responsible for poor economy under John Mahama government.

She is Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection. She has three children, one boy and two girls. Otiko in 2008 contested the Bole Bamboi seat on the ticket of the NPP but lost to former President, John Dramani Mahama and later became Women’s Organizer of the New Patriotic Party but resign after her appointment as minister in 2017.
She holds a Diploma in Communications and marketing and also had training as a Computer Systems Analyst from a college in the United Kingdom.
6. Adwoa Safo.

A combination of beauty with brains, and a voice of the woman in the society. She is a lawyer and a member of Parliament for the Dome Kwabenya Constituency, she is currently the minister for procurement. She has two kids with Hon. Kennedy Agyapong. She holds an LLM from George Washington University, Adwoa Safo was born to Ghanaian industrialist and pastor Apostle Kwadwo Safo on December 28, 1981.
